Learn three common Japanese stab binding patterns along with the basics of Japanese-style bookbinding. Stab binding is a decorative way to bind single sheets without adhesives. Students will learn about Japanese and Western papers and the use of paper tackettes to bind single sheets of paper. The covers for each of the three books will be made from silk-screened Japanese mulberry paper called Chiyogami. The books are approximately 14 cm x 10 cm (5.5" w x 4.25" h).
