The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre is closed to the public during the provincewide shutdown. We are offering the following virtual and take home programs and events:
Museum in a Box - February to December 2021
Tired of trying to find new and interesting activities for the little explorers in your life? Look no further – we have you covered with the Museum in a Box! Travel through time and the Museum’s exhibits from the comfort of your home with these hands-on activity kits, challenges, and videos! Each Museum in a Box includes supplies for 2 children geared towards ages 5-12. Younger explorers will require adult/sibling assistance. Plus each box offers a different educational theme that ties back to Bruce County, your little explorers will have so much fun they won’t even know they’re learning!
Your Museum in a Box will be ready for pick up or delivery after the fifth of each month throughout 2021:

Virtual Adventure Talks - February 10, February 24 & March 10
Traveling near and far, these explorers have been on trips of a lifetime and are excited to share their journey, stories and photographs with you. Please join us in this three-part virtual series to learn about some of the world’s most wonderful places.
February 10 – Dan Wong  – Adventures in the Arctic Wilderness: Tales by a Northern Canoe Guide 
February 24 – Joanne Sutton  – Solo Travel: Tips, hints and ideas for travelling alone, anyone can do it!

Virtual Family Day At-Home - Febuary 15
Are you the fastest Lego stacker? Are your motor skills on point? Make Family Day fun with us by participating in our at-home Family Day program! Join us with a virtual ticket to see Italian Guinness World Record holder, Silvio Sabba, provide a demonstration and reveal his tips and tricks for breaking records. Silvio holds over 200 records, some of which were broken with members of his own family!
Check out the activities below for challenges you can attempt at home, capture your best results on video and upload to the Museum’s Facebook page with #2021BCM&CCFamilyDayChallenges, the best records will win prizes!

When we are open once again, experience the long and proud history of Bruce County beginning in the newly updated Anishnaabwe Endaat gallery, through pioneer times to present day. Journey through thousands of years of natural and human history; come face-to-face with a baby mammoth, meet the shopkeeper while exploring Bevan's General Store, or play in our technology lab. Explore the rich marine history of Bruce County's lighthouses, shipwrecks and fishing industry; board the HMS General Hunter, an 1812 battleship replica, where an exciting virtual experience awaits as you shoot the cannon to defeat the enemy. Step into the trenches of WWI and follow the life of a Bruce County soldier through the war. Discover all this and more!
The Museum offers adult and children's programming and special events, and is home to the Bruce County Archives & Research Room. One visit will have you buying a membership! You can also use your membership for free admission at 4 additional Museums including: Grey Roots Museum & Archives, Waterloo Region Museum & Archives, Huron County Museum and Simcoe County Museum!
