Construction Season in Saugeen Shores:
Each year the Town of Saugeen Shores completes a variety of construction-related projects to ensure the Town's infrastructure is safe and accessible throughout the year. Unfortunately, the nature and the location of the work means the Town cannot avoid disrupting traffic and various civic services.
Every effort is made to ensure that the work is done efficiently and with the least amount of inconvenience to motorists and the public. Major projects (where possible) are completed before July or are started after September 1st to avoid peak summertime traffic.
The Town thanks you in advance for your cooperation and understanding throughout these construction projects.
The following are some of the proposed construction projects in 2013:

The Town of Saugeen Shores has a GIS Technologist to undertake the project of coordinating and analysing all existing and future maps and databases into one digital system.
A GIS (Geographic Information System) is a system of retrieving, storing, analysing, editing and displaying data that is spatially referenced to the Earth. It is a system that can query information from databases and display that information in a mapping format. The Town of Saugeen Shores is running their GIS using the ArcView mapping software program.
This GIS will contain mapping layers such as roads, water system infrastructure, sanitary system infrastructure and storm water system infrastructure as well as other pertinent Town infrastructure. This GIS system will eventually act as the inventory of all the Town's physical assets. The GIS group will work with all Town Departments to facilitate the streamlining of information into the GIS.
The creation of this GIS is underway and more information will be posted when it is available.
It is our intention to work with the County of Bruce and create a GIS system that will work well with theirs. You can find the Bruce County GIS information and maps at www.brucecounty.on.ca/maps.php.
Please note that for the months of May, June, July and August we have a summer student travelling around the Town of Saugeen Shores with a GPS unit collecting data. We appologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
This is for Contractors and Service Providers that would like the chance to be selected by the Town of Saugeen Shores for work. Only the appropriate forms and information submitted will be considered.
Completion of these forms and providing the proper information does not guarantee any Contractor or Service Provider work.
