Community Volunteer Work that Makes a Difference
If you’re interested in volunteering, leading projects, networking and having fun – you can do all of this and more as a Lions club member. As a Lion, you’ll perform local volunteer work to improve your community – and communities around the world.
You can join a local club that meets in person. A cyber club that meets online. Or a special interest club based on your profession, a hobby or anything you care about. You can plan a local project to protect the environment. Recycle eyeglasses to help the working poor. Or bring clean water to a remote village. Whatever you choose, you’ll be sharing, caring and making a difference.
The Port Elgin & District Lion’s Club are continuing to share with the community as they recently donated $1,000 in memory of a Founding Lion member who recently passed away.
Rupert Kitzberger had been a dedicated member of the local Lion’s Club since 1975. Eva Kitzberger and daughter, Anita Kuliha, were there to attend the presentation of the funds for local hospital equipment.
The gift in honour of Mr. Kitzberger, will help patient safety at Southampton Hospital. A wandering patient alarm system will notify staff and reduce the risk of patients leaving the inpatient unit.

“Our campus club is very rewarding and it’s exciting because it’s a very unique organization. We have both an international focus and also a local focus.”
